2010:: Outstanding Nonprofit in Palo Alto for Downtown Streets Team

In February 2010, DST received notice that it will be the recipient of the 2010 Tall Tree Award for Outstanding non-profit in Palo Alto. Former recipients include the Children’s Health Council and the Palo Alto Housing Corporation. The Award ceremony will be held at The Gabana Hotel on April 29th at 5:30. Executive Director Eileen Richardson will accept the award on behalf of DST. Up to 30 team members will be in attendance.

2009:: Harvard University Kennedy School's Ash Institute "Top 50 Innovations" for Downtown Streets Team

In 2009 the Downtown Streets Team was invited to apply for funding from Harvard University through the Kennedy School's Ash Center. Competing against thousands of other non-profits, governments and companies, DST won top-50 honors for Innovations in Government along with organizations like the State of California and the US Army. DST was awarded funding and has continued transforming its innovative model to fit the pressing needs of its clients.

2008:: Media Center, Local Hero Award for Eileen Richardson

Since 2005 Downtown Streets Team has been led by Eileen Richardson, who took the helm only five weeks after the programs inception. In 2008 the Media Center awarded her the Local Hero Award. Consequently she was featured in their webcast, “Faces of Local Heroes” last year. Unfortunately, the video is no longer available for viewing.
